Safeguarding Statement

at Puttenham CofE Infant School

Puttenham CofE Infant School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment. This means that we have a Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and safeguarding procedures in place. All staff (including supply staff, volunteers and governors) must ensure that they are familiar with this policy and procedures.

Parents, carers and visitors to the school are encouraged to read the policy which can be found on our website or a paper copy is available from the school office.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about pupils are discussed with their parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a decision would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

If you are concerned about the safeguarding of a child at any time, please contact a member of the Safeguarding team as soon as possible.

The DSL will refer the matter to the Head Teacher (or Chair of Governors if the concern relates to the Head Teacher) who will consider the action to be taken.
