Parking
The school is at the end of a single track lane off a narrow village street and there is the risk of congestion. It is helpful if parents can follow a few simple guidelines:
1. Lift-share with another parent whenever you can.
2. Be aware that young children walk along School Lane at the start and end of the school day. They can be difficult to spot, so be patient and give them plenty of room. Also, take care when reversing. If you are a pedestrian, please walk on the school side of the lane.
3. Do not park in front of the main school gates.
4. Observe the ‘No Parking’ signs, which are positioned to enable people to manoeuvre their car. It is otherwise virtually impossible.
5. Be considerate to residents by not parking or blocking access roads, driveways or gates even for a short time.
6. Fill all spaces, so as not to block available parking. If you need a quick getaway (e.g. for the second school run), it may be wise to park in The Street.
7. Turn your car around before you park, not when you leave.
8. If you drive a large vehicle (e.g. a 4-wheel drive), please use the back field.
9. Do not leave your car parked longer than is absolutely necessary.
10. If you arrive at school after the bell has rung, please give way to cars leaving School Lane.
Thank you for reading these guidelines. With your help we can make it as painless as possible for all our children to get to and from school.
