Communication

So that we can keep parents and carers well informed about school life and 'What's On', we communicate within a variety of ways, as follows:

Face To Face

A friendly welcoming face will always greet you each morning as you arrive at school. A member of staff will be at the classroom door once the entrance door has opened at 8.30am and Miss De Filippis is often in the playground to greet you.  Mrs Hazzard is available to help in the office.  If you wish to see your child’s class teacher or Miss De Filippis, please make an appointment at the office. We will try to accommodate as soon as possible.

Newsletters

The school newsletter is issued every two weeks and provides information about recent events, arrangements, interesting community news as well as a message from Miss De Filippis. Please read the newsletter so you keep up with what is happening at the school; things can change very quickly! You can also find copies of current and past newsletters on the website under Parents/Newsletters.

Text Messaging

The school office will send text reminders to parents and carers for more urgent communication. If there is a last minute change, this will usually be how we communicate it to our parents.

School Closures

If the school is closed due to bad weather or an emergency, we will aim to text you by 7.00am and it will also be posted on our website. If we need to close early we will contact you by text.

Calendar

The yearly calendar is found on our website which provides an overview of the year ahead. We also add dates to our newsletter.

Parent Consultation Evenings

These are organised in the Autumn and Spring terms and offer parents and carers an individual appointment to discuss your child’s progress.

Come and See My Learning

Once a term, you have the opportunity to come into your child's class and see their books. This is a very informal session, usually before the end of the school day.

Online learning

We use ClassDojo to update you on children's learning and celebrate their learning and development. Please see the curriculum tab for further information.

End of Year School Reports

School reports are quite comprehensive and detail what your child has achieved and inform you of their next steps.

Reporting Illness

In the event that your child is ill and cannot attend school, please telephone us on 01483 810317 or email info@puttenham.surrey.sch.uk by 9.00am to let us know.
