Puttenham Church of England Infant School

Fox Class-Year 2

Welcome to Fox class!

Welcome to Fox Class. I am Miss Bennett and in this class, we ensure that Year 2 have lots of wonderful learning experiences. By the end of the year, our aim is that the children leave as confident and independent learners who can take on any challenges.

We are very mindful of our school’s Christian values- love, hope, wisdom, resilience and respect, and we try our best to live by them, so that we can be the best we can be, be a role model to others and make our world an even better place.

We start our day with some calm music and with some morning work, before the morning register. Phonics is our first lesson and we are getting more and more confident every day. English is definitely the fun part of the day, followed by a break, assembly and Maths.

We have learning time in all outside areas including our very popular Forest School sessions in the school’s dedicated Forest School area and our school allotment in the warmer months. We use the hall and playground for lessons such as our daily run, PE, yoga, gym, dance and drama. We love to be challenged and stretched in our learning and when we aren’t sure, we know we can ask the adults for help and reassuring support.

This year, we are looking forward to exploring new ideas in learning about the Great Fire of London, Transport and Our Marvellous world. We will be delving even further into History (Miss Bennett’s favourite subject), Geography and Science and using our skills to find our passions for learning.

It is always such a joy to see the journey that the children take in Year 2 and together, we are going to bring enthusiasm, independence and joy to learning.
